Jungle Beach, Unawatuna

Local Travel

If you are heading to Unawatuna, Sri Lanka and are looking to avoid the crowded beach, then we suggest you head to the aptly named Jungle Beach. It’s smaller, quieter, has calmer waters and it’s where the locals go. Still not convinced? Watch the video below to see what it’s like:

Jungle Beach, Unawatuna, Sri Lanka Video:

We had a wonderful day on Jungle Beach swimming in the crystal clear waters, lounging on the sunbeds and getting to know the locals. There is a cafe on the beach where you can have lunch, juices and beers. Make sure you take suntan lotion as there is not much shade, and as you can see from the video, it’s a bit of a walk down so take comfy shoes!
