The Friday Photo Project | Camel Riding in Morocco

Camel Riding in Morocco

Morocco was the second trip that Karen and I ever took. We had a wonderful time visiting Marrakech, The Atlas Mountains, and Essaouira. It’s amazing how different a country can be even though it’s only 2 hours flight time away from your own country. That’s what we found with wonderful Morocco. It felt so exotic for us.

In between Marrakech and Essaouira we visited this beautiful hotel called La Pause. We had always wanted to camel ride and we were thrilled to discover that we had a free camel ride as part of our stay. The ride began as a gentle trot, but it soon became hairy as Karen’s camel kept biting my camel’s tail! Needless to say that my camel was not too pleased with this and began to run quite quickly. I just hung on for dear life and hoped that my camel would slow down. Thankfully it did and I could carry on my ride admiring the beautiful countryside that was around us.

Morocco is a wonderful destination and we highly recommend you visit. Just make sure you ride a friendly camel!
